Community involvement HC AMVJ
One of the most important spearheads of HC AMVJ is social involvement. Below you will find what we do!
Dynamo
Every spring, children attend AMVJ for introductory training through the welfare organization Dynamo. This way they can get acquainted with hockey in an accessible way.
Clothing fair
We organize the clothing fair twice a season. Second-hand clothing (e.g. uniforms) is sold and bought here. Anything left over will be donated to the sports equipment bank.
Sports equipment bank
The sports equipment bank is an initiative that resembles the food bank. HC AMVJ helps to collect sports equipment. Among other things, the remains of the clothing fair go there; Lost and found items are also cleaned up once every few weeks. People can also donate themselves in the blue wheelie bin next to the clubhouse.
Youth Fund Sport
HC AMVJ has been working with the Youth Fund Sport for many years. If your child would like to play hockey, but there is not enough money at home, the Youth Fund Sport can help.
If your application is approved, they will pay the contribution for children between 0 and 18 years old. The part that is not covered by the Youth Fund is covered by HC AMVJ.
Good to indicate that the registration and organization within our club is just like any other youth member (the only difference is that the invoice for contribution goes directly to the Youth Fund Sport). The JFS status is therefore not visible to other members.

Pinkhockey
Every Monday evening the Pink Lions (the only gay hockey team in the Netherlands) train at HC AMVJ. From absolute beginners to top hockey players (former Hoofdklasse, former Orange), from young (from 18) to veterans, from Groningen to Limburg (although most players come from Amsterdam).
The aim of the training sessions is, in addition to just having fun in hockey, to offer a safe sports environment.
